Napa County Redistricting Final Hearing Rescheduled to December 13

NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: REGISTRAR OF VOTERS JOHN TUTEUR 707-253-4459 john.tuteur@countyofnapa.org DATE: DECEMBER 3, 2021 Public Hearing to Adopt Final Supervisor Districts Boundaries Rescheduled for Special Meeting on December 13, 2021 The Board of Supervisors has rescheduled their Tuesday December 7, 2021 10:30 a.m. Public Hearing to a Special Meeting on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. for a Public Hearing on approval of a resolution adopting the final supervisor district boundaries using 2020 Census Data. The Board rescheduled the hearing to allow 5 days for public review of corrected map exhibits. The maps originally published for the December 7, 2021 hearing did not reflect the maps ordered by the board after previous public testimony and displayed at this link: https://districtr.org/edit/82492?event=napa_county Updated maps will be published on Monday December 6, 2021 on the Board’s agenda page Napa County - Board of Supervisors (legistar.com) and also at this link https://gis.countyofnapa.org/BoardofSupervisorsMap The public is invited to attend the public hearing in person at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, 1195 3rd Street Rm 305, Napa CA or remotely athttps://countyofnapa.zoom.us/j/842343169 The public still has an opportunity to comment on the corrected maps and propose other communities of interest and draft maps at this link https://districtr.org/event/napa_County “We are grateful to the public for their interest and participation throughout this process, which has included for the first time a mix of in-person and virtual meetings,” said John Tuteur, Napa County Registrar of Voters who is managing the redistricting process for the Board. Redistricting is the regular process of adjusting the lines of voting districts in accordance with population shifts. Each county with district-based elections is required to update (“redistrict”) the district boundaries every ten years, following the receipt of the 2020 population data from the federal census.
